Dear all,

In the reform of the Common Fisheries Policy, I believe that we need to challenge and revise some of the fundamental principles of the CFP, such as how access to fish stocks is allocated. Who should have the right to benefit from our common resource of wild fish? Should a fisherman who uses gear that minimises the impact on the marine environment, provides more jobs and has a history of compliance with the rules be given priority access to fish stocks? My Green colleagues and I invite you to debate these questions on 2 September, together with fishermen from various Member States, NGOs and officials from DG Mare and the national governments.
